Default MB Quarts Q's

im new to the whole car audio thing. i just bought a nakamichi head unit and im gonna order some 6.5 mb quarts speakers for the front. i know these speakers are really high-end. so my question is, will i need to upgrade to a good amp in order to get the full potential out of the speakers?? also would you reccomend replacing the audio wires or just use the stock speaker wires??
thanks for any help offered to an audio newb...

The Quarts will work stright off the headunit, however it will sound much better when powered from a clean amp. It would be a good idea to use aftermarket speaker wire (16 awg, or there around). Depending on where the crossover is located, you may have to run a wire for the tweeter anyway so it would make sense to upgrade the wire at the same time.

Hope this will help.

I would upgrade both the wires and get an external amp. Sound will be much better.

There are tons of decent amps... what price range are you looking at?

Personally, if I where you, I would go with Nakamichi amps, the most recent series (and I think the one before) where built by Zed Audio, great amp company. And if you went that way, you could still match amps and decks.

As far as speaker wire, don't waste you money upgrading. You will not be able to hear an audible difference. My buddy did a blind test using extremely high quality wiring, and lamp cords and everyone who took the test couldn't tell the difference between the expensive wires and the cheapo pennies per foot wire from the local hardware store.

Unless you go with ridiculously high power output from the amp, you don't need high quality speaker cables. On the other hand, power and ground cables need to be sufficently sized, as DC power literally pushes electrons through the cord, which can overheat smaller wiring.

so i have decided on the 2-channel naka amp in this link: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com...11692

im guessing 2-channel will accomadate only the front 2-speaker set up. but i plan on running two rear speakers in the future. so will i need multi-channel in order to run rear speakers?
