Default materials i would need to do this...(sub install)

The Car: 97 civic coupe

I would like to use the spare tire well in my trunk to house 1 12" JL W7....now what materials would i need to correctly do this? I was thinking about taking out the current material in my trunk and making a sort of mold to that and building a box right into it.

Another thing to consider is id like to have this sub down firing...or azz end up as some people call it. I also might like to (if im making a whole new mold) have a hidden place to put my 2 amps that will still give them enough room to breath.

The amps are a Xtant 4 channel and Xtant 1000w mono.

As for insurance needs these have to be mounted in some way to the car....but id also like the ability to take it out if the time came (and possibly keep my spare tire.

I know this is a lot but some of you have seen a lot more custom installs then i have...just looking for some ideas, mostly on materials i should use.

Hey this can be done but you are going to have to let go of the spare tire.Sorry unless you want to put it in your back seat or something! Material-wise what you are going to need is MDF, Silicone, Jigsaw, Expanding foam, Rubberized compound or Dynamat. (fiberglass, if you want it to be fiberglassed then you need Bondo Fiberglass kit) If you want it to be vinal then you just have to buy vinal and some cushion foam 1 yrd should do good and some 3m adhesive!! Any other questions just ask!!!

I have done them in the spare tire with fiberglass, but only Boston Pro 10 , some Polks work that small as far as I know.

If you are really serious about doing this...and doing it yourself, read the following links:
