Default LED on when disarmed?

Ok. I just finished my Viper 5900 install on my GSR. Now Im having a problem with the LED. Initially when I go hook up the alarm to power it up and the alarm is disarmed the LED is off, then when arming the LED turns on, when the alarm is tripped the LED is still on and when disarming the LED stays on. Then I go to arm the LED is on and then disarm and the LED is still on! My firend told me that it stays on to let you know that your alarm has gone off just like how the siren will chirp 3 times, and will reset when you put the key in the ignition. Is it true? I haven't tried it yet because I just got home trying to figure this out and I would like to know other possibilities before I go at it again in the morning. Or do I just have a faulty alarm?

Edit" Its not a constant on, it flashes.

Your friend is correct. The LED will flash the zone "number" after the alarm is triggered.

If it's not resetting when you turn the car on, you have connected the ignition wire incorrectly.
