i'm looking for a 10" and i've rounded it down to

INFINITY KAPPA PERFECT 10D VQ 10" for $145 or
JL AUDIO 10W3V3 10" for $159

which one should i get?

 

Both are good subs. What amp are you using to run it?

ive always been a fan of jl subs. never ad a problem or new anyone wta problem.

I have the Kappa perfect 10d in my s2000, and a JL 10w6 (the bigger version of the w3) in my civic.

The Kappa has a nicer sound, its smoother, more musicial, more suttle. The JL hits harder, stronger, louder, knock you over sorta bass. Both are *GREAT* subs - dont get me wrong - i love them both.

So in the end, its what type of music you listen to. If you listen to Rap and techno or other things with lots of bass - you'll be happier with the JL. If you listen to Classical, Jazz, easy listening, or more musical type of music, you'll be happier with the Kappa.

Well - i didnt use the word accurate - but i agree with you i think the JL is better at that - but i stand by about the music types and so on.

well, i just picked up 2 1230w reference series subs from infinity, and i really like the sound, only paid 75 each brand new.

futureshop, had them on sale half price, that's cdn too

 

both subs are nearly the same in sq infinity bases there product more on sq and jL is nearly as good sq but the jL will deff hit much harder. in my oppinion i would go infinity just cause im diff and i like the way the infinity's sound

I got one JL audio 12" sub in a band bass box and its got a real good thump to it..

 

i had an Infinity Kappa 120.3, and i was really happy with that, i actually still have it lying around.

it then got "stolen", and insurance bought me a JL 12W3V2. i must say, the W3 hit quite hard, but i still like the way the Kappa played.

then the 12W3 blew (due to the amp being incorrectly tuned), so i picked up a JL 15W0 8ohm. the 12W3 was about on a par, but the 15 just gets those really low notes a little better.

i still use the Infinity every now and then

oh, all the subs mentioned are in sealed manufacturer spec boxes...

 

its so hard to determine what sub works with a ported or a sealed box but sealed its a lil harder but ported youll get more treble
