Default I'v got a question

I just bought a kicker L5 12 inch bran new I really didn't know what amp to go with so I went to a local store in my area that installes and sell's amp's, and the store manger told to get something small like a 500w or a 250 watta amp.... I bought a Rockford fosgate 250watt amp price was really high.tho........ A friend of mine told me that that amp was not going work right because of the speaker or some thing like that , that the speaker wont benefit form the amp at all..... Well it work ?

I not really looking for something loud just something simply and small and all this is going in too an integra if that help...

P.s I don't know nothing about systems!!!!

The Kicker S12L5 is a 600W "RMS" DVC 2 or 4 ohm., [1200W max] a 250W amp can work but is realy underpowered for that sub, you will have to be very careful not to drive that amp into clipping.

BTW what R/F amp, [model number]?

As I said it can work, but a 600W amp would be better, or maybe your amp and 2 Kicker C8s 100W "RMS", [200 max] 94

Clipping that amp would be about 500w, Assuming you dont stay in this condition to long and the speaker can handle 1200W it should be ok.
