Default Installing sub under dash

After taking out my blower motor and ducts I thought about putting a small sub under my dash in the new space. I have an 8" JL micro sub that I tried fitting under there but it's about 2" too long. Other than that it would fit pretty nicely firing down. The thing that is getting in the way is the center section that houses the heater core and stuff. Since I live in Hawaii, I have no use for the heating system. I installed my VAFC and a/f gauge in place of my climate controls. How do I remove the center section? Do I just plug the coolant hoses? Or do I connect the 2 hoses on the engine side of the firewall together?

I'm out of the "big bass" phase and I just want clean sound. Plus I want my trunk back. I have 2 12"s that take up most of it.

Not to rain on your parade, but I think it's a bad idea. After a month or two you'll have tons of rattles from your dash.

Unless you spend a lot of time reinforcing everything and adding sound deadener.

yea I thought about that. But I guess i'll just try running the sub there. I'll point it at the floor and see how much my dash rattles.
