Default Installing LED Scanner (VARAD)

I bought a VARAD GOTHIC SCANNER about 1 year ago, and have yet to put it in... i have an alarm system to work with it, however i don't know how to install it... it seems pretty easy, one wire to the + and one wire to the -, and one wire to ground it... but, where do i find the place with the wires to connect them to???
can i connect it to the lil 1 red led light in my steering column?

Directions please! and pics if u have them... thanks

Wire the 2 wires at your ign switch.

wire the B+ to 12 Volts contant (with a fuse of course).
wire the ground wire to your ignition or accessory wire (+).

this way, it won't be on while you're driving around, but when you take the key out it will turn on.

Blah, + should get 12 volts (fused), - should go to ground, and the 3rd wire should be yellow or blue, and switched 12 volts, or hooks in to the led output of your alarm (might not work if your alarm sends pulsed power to make the led flash)
