installing dynamat
I own a 1992 Honda Accord Ex and I am planning on installing Dynamat Xtreme to the entire trunck and probably the doors also. It doesn't look like it will be very hard to install, but I've never done it before so I figured I would see if anyone had any pointers to make the installation go smoother.
I know there are cheaper products, but I'm getting a bulk pack for around $120 shipped, so I figure thats a pretty good price. I appreciate any help that you can give me.

Easy. Remove panels/carpet. Cut Dynamat to approximate size. Peel paper backing. Stick Dynamat to panel. Rub on using hands, or preferably, a rubber roller. Reinstall panels/carpet.
One thing you'll need to pay attention to is the location of any push clips that hold your door panels on. If you put the Dynamat over the clip holes, it'll be tough to put the panel back on. Just pre cut (or stick a screwdriver through) the Dynamat so the clips will go through to the panel.

here is a write-up of sorts I did on doing the doors...this is a very time consuming process if you do it right, but it makes a world of difference.

Oh, and that bulk pack will not do the entire trunk and the doors unless you use it sparingly where it will help with resonance but not as much with roadnoise.

man just to save you the trouble now, use a heat gun. if you don't your goign to have nightmares for year....lol, no but it makes it alot easier, and it activates the glue on the dynamat, and helps it stick longer.
Heat is only needed to install Dynamat Original where "heating the material improves bonding and elastic moldability."
The newer Dynamat Xtreme is more pliable and the adhesive is super sticky, therefore "heating the material is not necessary."
For both materials, "the temperature of the mat and application surface should not be below room temperature during fitting."

I agree in the clean the surafece with alcohol idea. There is no need to do the enitre door and trunk unless you are competing. I just did the area around my speakers and the panels in my trunk that had large flat surfaces that might cause unwanted resonation. No need to do it all, too much weight and that stuff smell bad in the summer if you have alot of it.
