installing 2 alternators ?
Hey all, I was thinking of installing 2 alternators in my 2002 accord. But does anyone know the pros and cons of doing this? Is it better to install one high performance instead? I am running a 500watt rms system in my car and I want to get rid of blinking lights and instrument panels at low idle. I would think that 2 alternators would create more amps at low idle than one high performance. However I’m not sure so if anyone knows anything about this give me a reply...thanxx
LOL.... You're going to attempt to fab a mount and try to find appropriate belts for 500 watts??
No, it's not worth it. I'd just upgrade the big three, and consider properly installing a cap.

its a silly idea unless you're building a competition car and you plan on running 2 high output alts

It is possible, I have done a few cars, lots of work.
I agree with the above it's not needed for a 500W system, I also agree that even a bigger then stock alt. is not needed, although it sure can't hurt, I would still wait instill you have a problem with the stock one.
I would be willing to bet that going over the systems wiring, [powers and grounds] doing the "big 3" upgrades, and possibly adding a 1 farad cap, if you crank your system a lot, would be all that is needed to eliminate and dimming.
