Default installed new stereo, now there is no power

i bought a new pioneer stereo for my car to replace the old one (also pioneer) i could'nt just plug it into the old harness because the plug is slightly different, so i disconnected everything but found that the previous owner had left 3 wires loose (2 red and 1 yellow, but since everything was working before i just left them alone) i basically copied the way he had it wired up before, once finished mocking up the wiring i turned the stereo on and it was working just fine but then i think i may have accidentaly made one of the loose wires touch the power wire and all of a sudden the stereo shut off (the a/c controls also shut off) so i checked the fuses under the dash and both were burned out i replaced them and the a/c controls started working again, but the stereo still has no power, any ideas on what else i could check??

5 bucks says its a chevy or gmc. It is wired totally fubar. Undo all the wiring, look up the factory wiring for your car on 12volt.com or somewhere and re wire the harness. If you have a chevy, gmc, pontiac, or buick, a lot of models do not provide a "switched" power source (red wire) and that is when people decide to hack up the harness and take power from somewhere they shouldn't. re wire and check fuses. Year make and model...

It's pretty easy unless the root of your wiring is screwed up somehow.. check ground too!

Best post so far. Since your sig has a chassie number. GO under the hood and replace the radio back up fuse. Check your wires again and tape up those exposed wires
