Default Infinity Kappa external crossover

I just got a set of Infinity Kappa 652.7i and I'm missing one of the external crossovers. Will this ruin sound quality? If so what can I do to fix this? Can I buy the external crossover separately? I searched and haven't found anything. Thanks for any help.

You are going to need a crossover. There are many manufactures that sell just the crossovers. You might be able to buy just the Infinity unit alone but I am not sure. Contact an authorized Infinity retailer and see if they can order you one.

Thanks for the reply. Ive been doing some research on the kappas and people are saying you need a amp to power these speakers. How many speakers do you need before you need an amp. I have a Alpine CDA-9885 in my eg right now.

its not really how many speakers you have its the rms on the speaker them selfs that determines weather you need amp or not, usually high end speakers are around 75-125 rms, they will need that continuously no matter what to perform and sound great, if you look at your deck what is on rms? around maybe 17-25 rms, you are severely under powering them, so thats when either a trusty 2ch or 4ch comes in to supply with the higher rms wattage needed, when looking for speakers and amps always look into the rms not max power.

Is there any place where I can buy just the crossovers alone? Is there any small amp that would be good to power these speakers? I have Alpine Type S in the rear and Infinity Kappa in the front. No subs.

Easiest thing to do is find a x-over, as mentioned check with your local Infinity dealers.

The Infinity KappaA652.7i is a 75W 2 ohm "point source" speaker system, you will need the passive x-overs or you can go "active", as mentioned, you really need an amp to drive them properly, a 4ch amp that makes 4x75W RMS into 2 ohms is the amp you need, something like this... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/prod...d=437
Two channels to run the mids and the other two to run the tweeters, and you use the "active" x-overs built into the amp. Kind of like killing two birds with one stone. 94

Well I just got a Soundstream 4ch amp from a friend. I'm hoping this is good enough. Does anyone know where I can find the Infinity tweeters?

The amp... http://www.soundstream.com/man...5.pdf should work fine, but not as an active x-over between the mid and tweeter, it does not have that kind of x-over control.

The x-overs you get with the tweeters are for the tweeters only the mid would be running full-range. 94
