Inexpensive Tracking and security solution
As some of you are aware, a car get stolen every 26 seconds. Either we know of someone that has fallen a victim of it or you might have experienced it first hand for yourselves. I have. Not many of you are aware that there are solutions for security that can add up to a pretty penny. So here is my suggestion...
The i415 Boost Mobile which can be purchased at any Best Buy or Circuit City for $49.99 with $10 credit on it, works great for .35 cents per day data service. I hooked up the phone with a serial to i415 data cable (serial) and a i415 USB charger cable to an MFC. I can now receive SMS text message if my car alarm goes off, lock/unlock, remote start, disable the vehicle and track it as well over an internet ready cell phone or computer.
Once my alarm is triggered, it sends a pulse to the MFC. From there it transmits to the phone which sends an SMS text. There is also a tach input that allows you to view if the car is on, RPM's and MPH. The best part of all this is that it offers to much features in your hands for security and tracking. I paid $350 for the MFC unit, serial cable, USB charger cable and 1yr free unlimited service and only took an hour to install.

That's great if you live in one of their coverage areas... But their coverage is spotty at best and isn't available in 9 states.
I would hardly call that being able to start your car from "anywhere"...

Sounds interesting. Tell us more about it. A MFC is the only device that will work with the i415? What is that, a pager or something? There's no way to just hack open a serial harness and connect it to the siren output on the alarm? Cuz at $400, you can actually get a Viper tracking system and they have a pretty good amount of satellites now.
Not to mention at $350 you can get a full fledged Car computer running windows xp and 1Ghz or above processor. What does that thing have?
Sounds like a rip off to me.
Depending on how easy the setup is it might have something going for it. Would need to be extremely user friendly to justify the cost over just putting in a Car computer. Which means everthing should work right out the box.

Ok. I have a CarPC in my car and it doesn't cost $350. Dunno what kinda setup you have. Viper and so forth limits you because they allow you a certain amount of SMS text message alerts and a limited amount of times you can log in an check the location of your vehicle as well as how many times you can send a "trigger".
For $350 I got the MFC which an 8 output device that can be used for tracking. It came with all the harness for the phone and come with one year free UNLIMITED (SMS and triggers). I know what you guys are saying, but however this is by far a cheaper solution than any other. Basically, I can remote start and unlock my doors and track my kids all day if I had not life. Tracking 24/7, far distance pager and vehicle disabler). I see it as Lo-jack in the palm of my hands.
Btw, It works with the i730 Nextel phone as well. Basically any Boost Mobile or Nextel phone with data service on it. But Boost has a cheap data plan. I know two people with the Viper tracking that is paying an arm and a leg because of the monthly fees + triggers which equal any 2 way communication from or to the vehicle. The MFC is from the company that does phone control of the vehicle.

Wasn't even trying to look https://logisysus.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=99
You sound like a reseller.
hmm.. address to website is 540 Nepperhan Ave. Yonkers NY, 10701
Your registration NY.
This product sounds rather expensive for a computer that can do little more than control a few outputs. It cant even do the GPS the phone does that. It couldn't even be classified as a modem, because thats built into the phone also. So what you have is a serial device similiar to a USB peripheral.
