Your HU needs a unswitched power could be white with blue tracer in OEH radio harness, if you have no power there check the 7.5 amp fuse in fuse box under hood.
hope this helps. 94

Just run a new wire from the 12 Volt constant wire in the ignition harness
The wire color is White (+)
I am a full-time audio/alarm installer, I have seen the wire go bad in some cars, so I just run a new one, hope this helps out.
Any questions email @ sammydhoff@yahoo.com

why not fix the problem, if its a fuse, evan if its not, repair it ,don't just add more wireing that can fail, and if you have to add wireing , run a fused line from the ign. output term. on fuse box all Hondas/Acuras have one, along with a acc. and a parklight in/out. I am also a full-time installer and have been for 30 years

ok thanks for all the advice but those are not helping me.
my problem is that I'm not sure which wire does what. did my year civic not come with this unswitched power wire i have no clue. nothing is wrong with my fuses or my wires, its just not wired right and or missing a wire.
does anyone of you actually know what color wire does what. or sometype of wiring diagram for my car. if i can where can i get another connector piece for these wires?
thanks again

ok i finally got of my lazy *** and bought a multimeter to find out which wire does what. found out that i don't have a constant power wire.
can i just use a wire directly connected to the battery as my constant power wire? should there be a fuse inline on this wire? my hu already has a fuse is this enuff?
secondly can i bolt my amp to the back of my subwoofer box?
thanks for all the help.

If you cant find the constant you have a blowen 7.5 amp fuse in fusebox under the hood . yes you can just run a FUSED wire from battery.[ you need a fuse within 18" of battery]
YES you can mount your amp to box, it makes it so much easier for the crook
If it fits mount amp under pass. seat.

hehe never thought about the thief and the sub box/amp. actually never thought about mounting the amp anywhere else. as you can see i'm a novice novice at this.
now that you mention it i have alot of room under my driver racing seat, but that seat is hot to sit in already. will mounting the amp under create more heat for me? i have no ac.
I will check for the blown fuse for my constant while i'm there gotta find out if my fuse for the dash lights are blown as well or the actual bulbs.
last question, is it better to have less wire from HU to amp or less wire from amp to sub?
thanks fcm, i think i woulda been good in audio if i didn't devote my time to the performance aspect of cars.

The amp will produce heat, mount it under pass. seat if you can, evan if you have to raise the back of the seat a little with washers/spacers and longer bolts.
The batt. is on that side of car I think, the shorter every thing is the better, shorter power wire, shorter RCAs, less wireing running to rear of car, just a 12ga speaker wire, just better all around. Think about it this way, mom phones you to tell you dad is getting a new TV come and get the 32" NOW or hes giving to george the guy next door, you unplug the banana jack pull out the sub box, your there
on the other hand, RCAs power and ground trigger wire
you get there just as pop is handing it to geo
the fuse for dashlights is in the incar fuse box,I think
