Default HU Setting help

Ok, first off, I've got a Sony CDx5510 (I know, I know, I would have chosen differently ) And I'm adding subs. Well the audio out can be selected between Rear or Sub. The problem is, the Rear setting is for a power amplifier, and the Sub setting is directly to a sub, however, the Low Pass Filter only works on Sub mode. Since I'm using a power amp to power the subs, I would set it to Rear, right? But then I can't use the LPF. And as far as I can see by the diagrams, the Sub setting is for going directly to a sub with no external amp. Help me out, please!! Thanks

If you have a subwoofer preout, use that preout to connect to the amp that is going to power the subwoofer.

Do that, or you can use the Rear preout, but then you'll have to use the amp's lowpass filter (most likely it'll have it).

I would just use the subwoofer preout.

yeah they call it Juice Boost, lol. That wont hurt anything sending signal to another amp instead of just a sub?

well...if you use the subs preout on the amp, to power say your speakers, then the speakers will be low-pass (I'm assuming it does).

Not sure why you would want to low pass speakers unless you are using the mids as a dedicated midrange. lol

I'd like to see the sub you're expecting to power directly off the head unit.
