Default how loud might this be?

ok im gonna be putting 2 15 inch rockford punch hx2's in a 6 ft3 enclosure tuned at 35 hz in my crx, w/ the subs facing up and the ports facing the back, w/ 500w rms running to each sub.

should i tune the box lower? the fz response is down at 24hz and xmax is like 14mm. should i tune it to 30 instead?

See if you can make the ports fire upward on the same plane as the woofers. Also, determine the resonant frequency in your cabin (with something taking up the same space as your enclosure would) and tune to that frequency.

so i should put the ports on top with the subs? is it best to have the port on the same side as the subs? i would have the whole thing facing back but 15s are too tall.

Ports firing on the same plane as the subs minimize cancelation.

Assuming this is an spl car. To find your res freq. I would build the 6 cube box, but don't cut holes in it. Find a small 10 or 12 that you have t/s for. Make a tiny enclosure(smaller the better). Less than 1 cube definately. Plot the theoretical response in winisd. Get an rta, and plot the response in car with doors closed and windows up. Your crx is very small. That is the reason you want to put take up 6 cubes, since this is a large percentage of your internal space withing the car.

Back on the subject. Look for the peak in the response. Find the highest frequency peak, and tune the box 7hz below that. I have never built an spl setup, but from all I have read on termpro this is the basic procedure.

well i cant find the resonant frequency so i think ill just tune it to 30. should be pretty good.soo. the 2 15s in a 5 ft3 box, single chamber 500wrms to each. and tuned to 30, should be pretty damn loud. im excited.
i have to finish my system before jan.25 for a show and i want to win the system part.guess i should start on my box.
