my friend had it powering his whole set, kicker subs, mb quarts and punch mids and it was suck! couldnt even turn upo the damn thing....

and tuning is hard cause no specs on the net and no manual....

specs:HCCA250G4 2-CHANNEL 800 WATT COMPETITION AMPLIFIER
2 x 50 @ 4 Ohm
2 x 100 @ 2 Ohm
2 x 200 @ 1 Ohm
2 x 400 @ .5 Ohm
1 x 200 @ 4 Ohm
1 x 400 @ 2 Ohm
1 x 800 @ 1 Ohm
Variable Low-pass 45Hz to 5kHz, variable high-pass with INTELLi Q 10Hz to 10kHz, 10dB of boost with INTELLi Q, remote gain capable, selectable AUX out

doesnt seem so powerful now ive found the specs, what do you think?

it really depends on your setup and the way you wire it up. make sure your existing speakers will handle the power. orion makes a good amp and is of high quality. to prevent distortion, don't wire your speakers in too low an ohm.

That Orion amp is a very good amp. I would not use it to run an entire system. Use it for sub duty only. Bridge it and wire you subs in parallel to get the lowest possible impedence you can. This is what that amp was designed to do. It is what they used to call a cheater amp.

hmm, sub amp alone, it seems a waste to use one sub....how much you think it will put out to one sub at 4ohms? i have a kicker comp vr and the bass at 200rms was great, when my friend was using the ORION he could not turn up the bass on the amp! it was freaking loud! i kinda wanted it for mid amp but oh well

ill try and get a matching sub and install it, thanks

It is only 800 watts. Little amp.

Jomo
I hope these are real questions and not just a waste of bandwidth.

The HCCA amps Orion made were not designed to run at 4 ohms. The were designed to drive very low impedences.

why would this not be a real question?
low impedence means less than 4ohms? why? is it easy to wire one sub to less than that? i don't get the whole ohms thing....

You can wire one sub so it will have an impedence lower than 4 ohms, but only if it is a dual voice coil sub. You will not get any lower than 4 ohms with a 4 ohm single voice coil subwoofer. Either hook it up bridged to that amp and be happy with your 200 W or ad more speakers and extract the power out of the amp that it was designed to put out. I would hook up two 4 ohm dual voice coil subs all in parrallel to this amp.
