I've hooked up the deck properly as i would have in any other vehicle. When i was taking out the old deck, i noticed a 8g power wire for an amp tied into the red(switch 12v) and yellow(constant 12v) wires on the adapter side. I disconnected that thinking it was wrong, as i've never had to do that before. Do i actually need to have that connected to get constant power to the deck in a 92 civic?

I just assumed it was wrong, as so far everything else in the car has been lol

This. Obviously something is wrong with the factory wiring and previous owner rigged it up. Run your own wires to the constant and switched power wires off of your ignition. Take that 8g crap out of there.

 

ok thanks grumps. this won't take much to fix then. Im just going to trace through the monkey'd crap this guy did before me in the actual harness. (its a mess) and trace the constant. Correct me if im wrong but on the factory side of the harness it should be white/blue or blue/white
