hooking up a LED light to a switch?
First of all, what kind of LED? If its a generic PLAIN LED, you need a resistor. A 220 or 330 OHM is good.
If this is an AUTOMOTIVE LED, you're ok.
All you need to do is hook up the red wire to a "hot" wire in your car. Then, hook the black wire to one side of the switch and then another wire from the other side of the switch to a ground point. If the switch is lighted, you hook the 3rd wire to a "hot" wire to make the switch light up. In that case, it should tell you which wires go where.
