honda crx sub problem
k here it goes me and my dad installed his old punch 45 amp and his old still water super kicker II box into my crx
heres the problem we rev the car above 2000 rpm the subs shut off. when we drop the rpms below 1000 they turn back on and with a honda y would or how would i drive with that low rpms so im woundering if theres and thing i can do to fix it
my setup is the power wire hooked up to the pos terminal on the bat. and it goes bach to the hatch though the carpet and then i have a fuse there and then it hooks up to the pos wire shown on the diagram it has on it then the ground is hooked up to the metal holding the spare time in which has to b a ground sorse then to the neg wire shown on the diagram then i has 2 rca jacks so it doesnt have to do with that and i have no clue y it does this

I would check the volt output of the car when the rpms are up, some electonics will not work if volts are over 14-14.5 volts, I have seen this a few times on Hondas,
the volt reg. is N/G, the other problem may be in the amp itself,[ something wrong with the power input of the amp] but first check all your connections, check and see if you have power on the power wire at the amp when RPMs are up,[ on both your main power wire and the trigger wire.
hope this helps.

yea i checked all the power wires and the conections i think today im going to put thicker power wires in and they did a draw test on the batterie and alternator and it said its fine but the dumb people at sears didnt turn the subs on
and do u think monster cable that is 10 guage is better than regular 12 guage wire

</TD></TR></TABLE> For powering a sub amp I would not use anything smaller than 8ga and a 8ga ground to floor pan of car as close to amp as you can, don't forget to add a 8ga ground upgrade to batt. and from engine to car body, and also a 8ga charge line from alt. to batt.
hope this helps

k today i put new wires in and shortened the ground wire to like 6 inches i shortened the power to the radeo by like 3 ft and i moved my fuse to the front but the amp still turns off after driveing 4 5 mins then turns back on after i push the clutch and drop the rpms to like 750 and it turns back on after i hit the gas but if i turn the car off it turns back on and here all are my wires hooked up----- rca jacks from radeo to amp, red power wire to amp from radeo wich is 12g, power from battery 6 inches to fuse then through 10 guage wire to the amp, and ground wire wich goes 6 inches and is 8 guage

</TD></TR></TABLE> What is the 12ga red power wire from HU to amp, amp trigger? [ does not need to be bigger than 18 ga, but will work] if you have a multimeter or testlight check to see if you have power at the amp on the power wire from the batt. and on the trigger wire from the HU when the amp cuts out,[ if you don't have a multimeter or test light, get one, test lights are like $5, or just make one out of any 12v lightbulb] we need to know if the problem is amp not getting power or if the problem is in the amp.
