Hidden system install?
Has anyone ever tired to hide their amp/sub before? I would like to have a sub under my driver seat like the STI has. Don't know where to put the amp at yet or how big it's going to be. Planning to dynamat the whole car soon. and the budget for the sound system going to be ~1,000. If anyone have any idea to hide the system please help. Thanks in advance!
You can hide an amp in the spare tire well. You could hide a sub there as well.
Most "hidden" installs I see involve having a well carpeted box with the ability to cover the subs with carpet when not in use. And of course, as far as front stage use stock tweeter mounts and hide the woofer under the doors speaker grill.

As far as I've seen, most people cast their own using fiberglass. I don't know if a "universal" circular box exists but I bet you could get away putting a 10" in a square enclosure into the tire well if the enclosure is small enough.
Making a fiberglass box for your wheel well is not the hardest thing to do. Some of your local audio shops should be able to do that for you if you do not want to tackle it yourself. Shops will probably charge you in the range of $450-$700 depending on the level of fabrication required. When I did mine it was about $120 in parts, and probably a total of 10-12hrs of work. One thing that you need to keep in mind if you are going to build your own is airspace for the sub. Most honda/acura wheel wells contain a decent amount of space, with that said depending on what sub you are going to use and what airspace requirements that particular sub wants you would have to make changes to your box. If I can find pictures of my Dc that I did I will post them.
