Icon2 Help with viper 1000

i bought a car with a viper 1000 already installed. the previous owner had it set on vallet. so it was only used to lock/unlock the doors.

i down loaded the owners manual from the FAQ in this section. i found out how to take it off vallet, and make the alarm work. i need to add a hatch and hood trigger, so i need to find an install manual, or if someone knows what wires on the unit are for those inputs that would help. but thats not my main issue right now.

when i set the alarm, it goes off for no reason. like 3 times in 5 mins. i even parked where there is no traffic, or anything to set it off, but it just keeps going off.

i took the box out to relocate it and make sure it was secure, and also look to see if i could adjust the shock sensor. there is no exernal shock sensor, so i opened the box to see if it was adjustable there, but it is not.

anyone know why the alarm would keep going off for no reason?

i would really like to use the alarm as i park outside.
im new to alarms, but not electrical. thanks.

89 civic dx hatch

That alarm model has been replaced with the viper1002. It could be many things thats causing this, Low voltage, bad input trigger, broken shock sensor. Does this unit have a back up battery or any other accessories on it?

trunk trigger is blue... you can add the hood to it by isolating both with a diode.

no back up battery or other accessories other than the door lock/unlock.
i have noticed if i leave the stereo on for like 10 min the battery goes dead, but otherwise never had a no start issue.
i will check battery volage as well.

is the shock sensor built in to the unit? there is no external one.

as far as input triggers, i will do a check to see how all the wiring looks and make sure there are no grounded wires, including all the ones not being used.

i know his is not the best set up but its better than nothing a this point.
