Default Help with selecting Amps please

Can someone please tell me what watt amps would work best with these speakers and subs for SQ with primarily rap music. Can I power these with one 4 Channel and one 2 Channel?

In the doors I'm building, there will be;
Kenwood KFC-1079ie 4" speakers 100w Peak, 20 RMS
Kenwood KFC-T205ie 1.5" tweeters, 170w Peak, 50w RMS
Kicker RMB8 8" midbass, 350w Peak, 175w RMS

Rear of car;
Kenwood KFC-1789ie 6.75" speakers, 220w Peak, 40w RMS
Kicker CVR12 12" Subs, 800w Peak, 400w RMS

I was thinking I could power the 4" and Tweeters together, the 6.75" and the 8" driver off a 4 channel.

And then the 2 12" subs off a 2 channel.

Would that work? How many watt amps should I get? Sorry, I can bust a knuckle turning wrenches but I've read and read and still can't comprehend how to determine which amp, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million for reading this!

i would suggest replacing those 4" and 6.75" kenwood speakers with something more efficent and much better because your gonna have a hard time finding an 20-+watt rms speaker amp because thats pretty much what aftermarket decks put out.

if you still want to amp the speakers and midranges, a 6 channel amp will work (doubt you will find one in that area of rms) for your 2 fronts, mids, and rears. or go with 4-channel and amp a total of 4 speakers (2 pairs). so you can amp just the 2 fronts and 2 rears, 2 fronts and 2 mids, or 2 rears and 2 mids.

a 2-channel amp can be used for 2 12" subs (assuming they will be brdiged) OR 2 car speakers. sometimes even 2 speakers and a sub. but if you tend to use that amp strictly for subwoofers, i would suggest mono amp (perferable d-class...which are amps meant for subwoofers). d-class amps are more efficent and give out more "raw" power compared to a/b style amps (speaker amps/2-ch/etc).

ALSO, you got to know how many ohms the speakers are, the subs are, and if the amp is compatiable with it.

again, i would invest into better front and rear speakers and run off deck then watsing money amping those kenwoods.

goodluck

Thanks for the reply. Damn so I probably need to dump these kenwoods and look for something with a higher rms to achieve a better SQ?

Thanks for the input screwmesa. Yeah, I'm going to scrap my kenwood 4's and 6 3/4s.

I started looking at some kappa's 5.25 components as a some what affordable setup. I'm looking for a good setup with great SQ but would like to keep the cost low. Who doesn't? lol

Anyone who would like to share a good setup to go with the 8"s and 12"s it would be greatly appreciated. No matter how much information I search out and read through for some reason I just don't understand it all...lol There is so much out there which also adds to the level of difficulty for someone who is electronically challenged. lol thanks
