Default help running amp

i wired an amp in my gfs 98 jeep cherokee, shes got a factory head unit that has no preamp outs, so i hooked up this adapter thing, triple checked it, its wired right, but i dont think the amp is getting enough power. the light lit up bright in my car but really dim in hers and its not putting out any music.

do you think its the battery or what, its an old one, all corroded and rusty and ****, shes gonna buy a new one but what else could it be.>??

check to see if it id getting 12 volts or more at: the battery, before the inline fuse, after the inline fuse, at the amp. Check your ground. Then check your amp turn on for 12 volts at the amp. If all of above is correct then something must be wrong with the amp. Check your hi lo adapter to see if you have it adjusted right, play with it see if you can get any noise out of the subs....
