Default Help with putting it all together.

One of my first posts was in here asking about putting together a full system.

I really didnt get much help, so I am trying again.

Right now I have a 99 civic ex, everything audio in the car is stock.

I need some suggestions on what to buy really. When I go to the car audio stores around here all they want to do is sell me the most expensive stuff, and they dont help at all, and all my friends have higher end systems.

I just want something that sounds better than the stock system, with a little bass (nothing thats going to shake the hell out of my trunk) and sounds clear and crisp.

I dont want to buy some off-the-wall brand and I also dont want to buy some real high end expensive stuff.

I really dont have a limit, Im not going to go out and buy all the stuff at once, just kinda piece it together as I go.

So i guess I need a headunit, some speakers, maybe a sub?, and an amp. Im not really sure on what all I need.

Thanks in advance for the help

Sounds like you don't want to spend too much. How about:

Infinity Reference or Kappa if you have the money.
Infinity or Alpine 10" sub, 1 cube sealed will probably be more than enough for it, get dual 4 ohm voicecoils.
Pick a headunit that you like
Pick a 50x4 amp also, that will produce 200 watts with the channels bridged at 2 ohms.

Run two channels of the amp to the fronts, hook your stock rears up to the headunit, bridge two channels into the sub.

I don't know maybe it's just me, but I don't like installing everything at once. I like to go component by component, so I can hear/see the difference that it made. If I were in your situation, I would buy a new headunit. Right now, it will make more of a difference than any other (single) upgrade.
