help please
so i have a system in my car, and i hooked it all up, and it isn't seeming to get power. so i replaced the buss fuse and then did it again...nothing... but when i took the ground off the amp showed that it was getting power and when i connected the ground again i got nothing...my bro has a too lwhere u can check if the ground is good and it is..wat is my problem?
check 3 things
1.check for good ground...is the metal metal is it clean and solid make sure its a good connection
2.check power wire ..what size power is the amp?is your wire and fuse large enuff to support the power? is it i good connection on the battery?
3.if all else fails take the amp to a trustworth audio shop and have them bench test the amp for you
good luck bro

A better description of what you have, makes and models of HU, amp(s) speakers and sub(s), what you are using for power/ground for amp(s) where the amp is grounded and how.
Also a better description of what is not working, EG; the HU powers up, but no sound, HU does not power up, everything works but no sub(s), and so on.
I will say this, disconnecting the amp ground with the system on is a bad thing, it can cause damage to the amp and/or HUs preamp signal inputs/outputs, [signal ground/return].

ok well my hu is getting power and speakers inside my car work(although they are not amped) my amp works because i tried it on another system, but anyways when i disconnect the ground(didn't mean to it just fell off when i was screwing it in) the power light on my amp came on, but when i tried to do it with it connected it wouldn't....i kno u would think the ground is bad right, but my bro has an ampmeter and he checked it an its a good ground so i dunno wtf my problem is...also just replaced the buss fuse...ive had this system for a while and its been working but all of a sudden it wont?? weird
When you say "ampmeter" I assume you mean multimeter, if so, to troubleshoot the problem I would start by disconnecting the subs at the amp and set meter to ohms and check what the load is on the speaker wire(s) coming from the sub(s), then set the meter to DC volts and make sure you have 12V at the main amp power, and the turn on lead, you have already checked the ground and you say it's good.
If all the above are good, reconnect the sub(s) and plug in another source into the amp, [iPod, Walkman, MP3, signal from a friends car or even a home system] or use your own HU but use another set of outputs from the HU, [other then the ones being used now]
If all the above fails to get any sound, pull the amp and bench check it, [although it is pretty much what you will have done if you do the above]
One more thing to try, [no meter or anything needed] disconnect sub(s) and turn on system, does amp "on light" turn on?
