Default HELP with my deck installation!!

i replaced my stereo deck with my new one and had it put in and working fine. then remembered my cd was still in my old deck, my irriplacable cd...****!!!! so i pulled the new deck out, cut the power, accessary, and ground and hooked the old deck up to those so that i could push eject and get me cd out. there was a spark when i did it and then when i hooked the wires, no power. yes i checked all the fuses even on the wires them selves. all good. hooked my new deck back up...still nothing....**** AGAIN!!! rechecked all fuses, still good. im not paying 60 bucks for car toys to find some small overlooked problem so any help would be appreciated.

check fuses under the dash/hood as well double your wiring. i'd recommend to always disconnect the negative terminal on the battery everytime you're working with any electrical work so that you wouldn't run into small problems like this.

try just touching the red and yellow to ur + terminal...and the black to ur - terminal on the battery then have someone hit the eject button...thats what i do wen i change decks and forget theres a cd in the deck..also if u do have a fuse problem then this wouldnt matter because u hooking it straight to the battery...unless ur deck is cooked...

alright get this. i used my test light and touched it to the yellow...nothing. which means i was geting no power even the all the fuses were fine(on wire, dash, hood, deck). then just for fun i tryed it on the ground and it lit up!! but when i had my deck hooked up it was hooked up correctly and working and it wouldnt of if those were switched. another thing...theres a cheap alarm in my car that the last guy put in there. it didnt do this before but when i try and turn the dome light on it resets my dash clock and makes my trunks open light come on. when i put the dome switch back to the middle setting or off everything goes back normal.

i feel like an idiot. i thought i checked all the fuses, but i just looked over so quickly out of frustration that i over looked the interior light and clock fuse...BINGO!!! everythings kool now but i did try hooking the old deck up to the battery but i think its fryed cause i didnt come on. i guess ill have fun taking that thing apart then...it was the cheapest deck ive ever seen anyway. thanks again everyone
