help me id this ALPINE part

That wiring harness looks like it's for a DRY Alpine deck. One that does not have any power output, i.e. speaker leads.
The Alpine CD player would only have RCA outputs.

hmm, never heard it called a dry head before, a dead head yes, but not dry - nice to learn a new term

Hmm.. I always thought it was called a tuner: no built in amp to drive
speakers vs reciever.

also if you look close at the harness you will see its for a "wet", lol, HU you can see both the white LF and the violet RR speaker leads, and with the size, [gage] of the yellow power lead and the size of the "choke" and the gray plug I would say its for one of there"highpower" HU,

yeah, its definatly the harness for it... if you're talking about the gray box, its a noise filter for the power, and its somewhat reduces the current to the deck...
