Hi everyone
First time posting in the audio forum and let me just first say I'm really newb when it comes to audio stuff. My problem is a few months ago someone broke into my car and stole my subwoofer, so I just recently got a new sub to replace it. It didn't work when I tried to hook it up, but I was able to make sure that the sub works (connected it the speaker wires). I don't know what is wrong with the setup. I figured if the thieves just pulls out the sub box, everything else should still work properly right? None of the fuses are blown and the amp lights up and everything. I also checked to make sure there is no cuts in the wire. Do you guys have any suggestions on what I can do next? How can I check to make sure the amp works? Thanks in advance.

Did you make sure the speaker leads did not touch each other after the sub was stolen and you turned on the system.
If nothing else was touched, [except sub] and the speaker leads from the sub amp touched ground or each other and the amp is turned on, [you turning system on] the outputs on the amp will blow. 94

hmmm... that is a possibility. I mean I left the wire hanging for a few months now before I got a new sub. Even if the outputs of the amp blew, would it still turn on?
