Help!!! alarm is going crazy
i just finished changing my alternator. i plugged the negative wire back onto the battery and opened my door to get some stuff. when i opened the door, the alarm started to make a chirping/clicking noise and didn't stop. i tried using the remote to lock/unlock but no luck. so i unplugged the negative again because it was the only way to stop it. i went change the AAA battery on the remote then plugged the negative back onto the battery and the same thing happens again. i cant stop the clicking noise. how do i fix that? (alarm: viper 791xv, car: 95 civic hatch dx d15b7) thanks
I answered you in the other forum. Take it back to where you got it and have them reporgram the remote or sell you a new remote and reprogram it. Best Buy and Circuit City also carry DEI alarms so they could help you out.
If you need to unhook the alarm to get it to the shop then just pull the fuse out of the power wire.

find your valet button...usually a small black button, most installers put it near the driver's kick panel, once you find it, hook your battery back up and when you get in the car turn your ignition on (don't start the car) and hit that button...it should disable the alarm and take it to where you get the alarm from and have them reprogram your remote, otherwise you can try this.
once the alarm is disabled:
1. turn the ignition on (don't start the car)
2. hit the valet button once, then hit the button and hold it down.
3. keep holding until you hear your siren chirp once
4. next hit the lock button on your remote
5. turn the key off and your siren will make a funky sound
6. your remote should be programmed and test it to see if it works.
