Defiantly run a 1 farad cap. i would suggest running an Eclipse head, but really any head unit with at least 4 volt pre-out will do.

Depends on a budget.
If you can affor this one, than go for it:
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com/pls...in=10

If that's not enough, there's F#1Status:
http://www.alpinef1status.com/....html

Older models like 9813-15 are pretty good too
A new line has been released a couple of months ago, you might wanna check them out. Make sure you listened and compared enough before you buy.

I would go with an Eclipse unit. Definately atleast a 5 volt model.

You will need to get atleast A 1-farad cap. I've seen that amp kill charging systems. You even run a decent chance of needing a larger alt.

Remember the HU is the most important part of your system, in the end, how the system sounds and how much control you have will depend on the source, [ the HU] You should sit down, take a min., and deside what you want the HU to be able to do in the end, as you build your system, you don't want to get to a point where you have to say to yourself, chit I should have gotten the HU that had this or that
So take your time, go to your local car audio shops and check out the HUs on the demo boards 94
