Default Head unit in a CL

I have a 2001 Acura CL, I am thinking about getting a double din head unit, the Pioneer AVIC-D3. I don't wish to upgrade the factory bose speakers or touch the stock amp. The install guys at best buy who probably know less than me are telling me that the rear speakers will not work and that the amp will burn out within about six months. I am under the impression that there would be enough outputs for all of the six speakers in my car, front, rear, and the tweeters. And I don't understand how the amp would blow out seeing as though it is not going to be played with. Shouldn't the new head unit put out enough power anyways?

Have fun fitting a double din in that car. I did one two months ago and hated it the whole time.

Did you have to get new speakers and a new amp?

No you can use a high to low conveter and it will sound ok. The difficult part is making the dash kit because no one makes a double din kit for that car. You'll probably be looking at a few hundred just for that.
