Can anyone help me figure out how to get this head unit out? I need to get in my Kenwood deck, but am having problems getting the current Sony deck out. Do I need keys to remove this deck???

 

Is that an EG or an EK?

Do you have the keys to remove it from the sleeve?

 

It's in an EG (93 EX Coupe)

 

Unfortunately i don't have the keys, (just bought the car) does this deck require one? maybe i can have the shop take it out when i get the alarm installed. but would love to get my kenwood deck in before then though...

 

okay to remove the radio...remove faceplace
look along to top rim of radio..you should see two small
slots...they are the key holes.
take the kenwood radio removal keys and slide them into the
slots...now slowly rock the radio from left to right while you
pull it toward you. one removed..take cage out.

have a beer.

EDIT: ...woops wrong info...you see to two silver tabs on both sides
of the radio...that is your removal points...take a jewlers screwdriver and
pry the lock inward..you can then pull radio out.

 

thanks much! when i got the kenwood deck, my installer didn't put em back in the box. so, i just ran to best buy and the guy gave me a couple and i took it out behind their garage. thanks again for the help!
