OMG YOU ******* MORON YOU'RE SO STUPID, no i'm kidding, why not just do an aftermarket deck? i put an Si radio in a 99 hatch, but i dont think you can do it in a 92... not 100 percent sure, but pretty sure
I was looking at some aftermarket decks but they just dont look right in my carI like the OEM style.and all i want is just a cd player no fancy out puts and XM radio ready crap.and I dont really want to drop over 2 bills on a decent head unit for some punk to walk by my car and say "hmm thats cute I wouldnt mind putting that in my geo tracker.I just want ot know if all honda/Acura head unitl will plug and play. yes i am a moron.
The plugs and mounting system on a "new" Si radio are completely different. A reputable, name-brand, detatchable face radio, can be had for alot less than $200 and it will sound tons better than a stocker. Only the dumbest thief will steal a radio with no faceplate. It cost more to buy a new face for a cheap radio than it does to buy a whole new radio. No street sale value.
While im on a roll of asking stupid questions. to put in a 99-00 si inot my car I have to take the male part of the harness off of the 99-00 and just splice and match colors to make it plug and play?
i'd go to circuit city or some place like that and have them get a 71-1721 harness from Metra. This will plug into the back of the Newer Si's radio, and then you can use a 70-1720 to plug into your 92 Civic. This way everything will wire right up and can be undone anytime down teh road
