Default First Post, Please help me out here

So, I am taking my Rockford Fosgate 5002 Amp and My MTX 12'' Sub out of my dakota and putting it into my new 1995 Accord EX, worked fine before, I install my panasonice MP3 Deck and all worked fine. I then Wire in my Main power wire ( 4 guage ) through the firewall to the drivers seat, Ground goes to a bracket welded to the body, remote line goes from my Ingition/Acc. to the Amp and RCA cables go from S.W. OUT lines on my Deck to my Amp. SO the light comes up on the amp when i first turn it on but no power goes from the amp to the sub, I have tried diffent speaker wires to the sub even tried a different sub woofer but no power is getting there, I thought it was the RCA cables so i replaced them and then tried every output on the back of my deck but no power. I know my Power/Ground/Remote Line/ are all good because I am getting power to the amp but what could it be.

Thanks ahead of time for your input.

HELP!!!

Try this, first make sure the sub is working, just touch the subs speaker wire to a 9V batt., [you should hear a "pop"] if that works hook the sub up to the amp, turn the amp on, plug in a set of RCAs that you know are good into the amp. then, using your thumb, "short out" the sig. pos., [center pin] and the sig. "return" neg., [outside] if the amp is ok, you should hear that on the sub, it will "pop", [just not as loud as when you use a batt. on the sub] every time you touch the end of the RCA. If you can not hear anything on the sub, then there is a problem with the amp.
One of the most common problems I have seen when working amps are moved from one car to another, [and then not work in the new car they are in] is burnt sig. ground tracers on the amps circuit board, this will happen in an instant if the amp is on and the RCAs are hooked up and the amp ground is bad, [or it is disconnected]
The other thing I would check is the power and ground on the amp, you will need a multimeter to check this, make sure you do have a good ground, and when you check for power, do it with the amp on and test it at the amps pos. (+) term. and amp control term. just because the light on the amp comes on does not mean the amp is turning on. 94

By "a bracket welded to the body," do you mean the body panels or the chassis?

Since hondas are unibody it is welded to the body ( no chassis ).

So I found out the issue was actually a blown Sub, not sure how since i took it out of my other vehicle working but that is what it was, thanks all for the insight.

you moved it from one vehicle to another, if not careful you could have disconnected the wiring inside the box. fcm is correct about popping the sub but just b/c it doesn't pop doesn't mean it's blown. use the same multimeter you used to check the power of the amp and change the setting to ohm readings. check to see the ohm reading off the sub. if you don't get any reading open up the box and check to see if the wiring is connected to the sub and to the speaker terminal of the box.

another suggestion....

check your radio's settings. I can't quite recall if panasonics do this (I know they do with Sirius), but the option for the sub-out may be turned off by default. When you push the volume **** in to adjust fader/bal/bass/treb does it also come up with a SUB option? If not, check in your manual to see how to enable the sub option.
