Default factory keyless remote help

i need to know how to programe my new remote. my old one got lost. help anyone? i did a search and nothing came up

I thought they came from the factory preprogrammed. If you need a new one, then you have to get it from the dealer. I think the codes are programmed into the chip.

It is easy if you have the correct remote. What car do you have and what year/model is it? Programming is specific to the model and year.

A 98 CRV requires a remote with fcc id E4EG8DJ. This is on the backside. Else it won't work. Do you have the correct remote?

What you do is put the keys in and turn to the last position before the car starts. press the lock button on the remote. Turn the key off. Repeat this 3 more times for a total of 4 times. Then you will hear the locks cycle. keep pressing the lock button until it stops locking the car (no noise). Turn off the car and exit. It is now programmed.
