never heard of dynaudio, but i love my focals. Would highly recommend them to everyone. I have the Focal Utopia 165W bi-amped and running 105W rms to each woofer and tweeter. it sounds awesome. I would highly recommend a eq though.

I originally had the 165H's and those were great speakers. Put them through hell and back and never had a problem with them. My gf has them and she hasn't had any problems. the new Access line is supposed to be really good if you are on a budget.

Diamonds are not my cup of tea Unless of course they are the old ones built in Germany by Eton...

and before you ask, yes, I owned a pair of Hex S600s comps...

Let me school you folks.

Dyn only has ONE line unlike Focal.
Only the Utopia can be compared to the Dyn.

The 2 lines have a distinctively different sound.

yes and NO. The diamond HEx are not up to snuff with utopia or the DYN, Unless they are the Etons, which Diamond no longer makes. The diamond Hex of today blow, literally.

Yes, that tweet does not handle power and high volume well. I had their mid blow out. That was fun.

Yes they are. The dyns offer a more accurate and realistic sound as opposed to the utopia. But they are flatter thenthe utopia, the focal have a more lively more aggressive sound, but they are not as real as the dyn.
The flat sound of the dyns can be compensated with a good install and good equipment matching.
all in all it boils down to personal opinion.
Personally I say go Dyn. fantastic set.
