door remote same as secuity remote?
I just purchased a used 2003 crv ex with a secuity alarm installed, but they did not have the door/alarm remote. The chevy dealership that i bought it from said they will get me a remote but do I need a special one because of the secuity alarm system? Thanks
You will need the remote that works with that specific alarm. Same brand and series model. Otherwise, it won't accept the frequecy code when programming it.
On the other hand, a keyless entry system is not the same as an alarm system. Although, alarms systems nowadays have the keyless entry feature included as standard.

The security system is a honda option installed by the dealer when new. The remotes look the same in the photos but my guess is that they may be different.

for the alarm that is in the car.
If installed at the dealer, it could be anything, you need to see the alarm "CPU", also, get it disconnected till you can program new remotes,SOMEONE OUT THERE HAS A REMOTE FOR YOUR CAR ,[ and maybe keys also]
