Default Door Lights?

I am trying to hook up an alarm
and i know it should connect the door lights so that it knows when i opened the door or not
but i am not sure which wires i need to hook up for it..

is there two wires that i need to connect to the lights? or just one??

It should only be one wire. Depending on what alarm you have the trigger wire would want to see a positive trigger or a negative trigger. If negative trigger just grab the passenger door trigger wire and it will get all the doors.

If positive you may need a relay, again, depends on the alarm(some will accept pos on one wire and neg on another wire)

All it needs is one wire to sense the door is open. (So it is highly unlikely it will need both)

If it is a honda, the doors are a negative trigger

You are correct and I am thinking older than that. (Actually I dont ever think I came across a pos triggered honda)

What I meant for the original poster is that some alarms want to see a postive trigger.

if all else fails you can pull out your door pin and follow that wire to a more accesabe spot such as door jam and catch it there
