ok, so i need to connect the wire(for my alarm) to the door sensors that tell my 92 civic if the doors are open or closed and here's my problem:
The wire from the driver's side door to the domes light is green and blue, and when the door is open, the dome light comes on. this is the wire i think i should connect to,
but, the wiring diagram and my haynes say i should connect it to the wire on the passanger's side( the green and red one)
When the passanger's side door is open, the dome light doesnt come on, so my questions are:
Which side do i want to connect it to?
Is there just a problem in my passanger's side connector, because the light doesnt come on?

edit: also, on my friend's alarm, if you stand next to his car for too long it will beep at you. any idea what these sensors are called and where i can get some?

you can connect this wire to the door trigger wires.. its the way ive done it several times.. as for the passenger side switch not turning on the dome light, you have either disconnected it or its broken.. in either case, if its not working someone can enter your car from the passengers side and the alarm will not go off..

you can also get a prox sensor i would get a dei 508d look around on ebay or call local shops to make the car beep at you when you wake to close to it..

 

First, unscrew the passenger side pin switch and clean off any rust so that it makes metal to metal contact to the body. And make sure the wire connector isn't too corroded.
