yeah i hear that the clutch lock thing does really work because my friends car was broken in but they couldnt take the car because of the clutch lock. i just want to know does it really stop people stealing the car but can steal other stuff inside but not the whole car.

Security devices are a deterrent. Deterrent is the first step to prevention.

They can still tow your car with the autolock on.
Or the can break the key hole with that tool for repo job.
Still a good deterent for amateur thieves. If they want your car they will have it.

Its been said before, Layers. Autolock, club, Alarm, kill switch. I have them all, and w/ a total of two attemps in the past 1 1/2 years, I still have my car.

I noticed that too from many members here that keep focusing on what doesn't work, how one can get around it, etc. And not seeing the big picture of "layers of security."

You're talking about this right.........

Edit: The U shaped lock goes around the shifter and locks into the base unit that's bolted to the center console, right?

Had to be more clear in what I was trying to clarify....

I'm guessing that requires drilling through the floor of the car to install?

look if they want ur car they will get it one way or another the only thing with all this crap we're putting in our cars is to SLOW THEM DOWN thats all we can do. then when they do break in they look at all the **** that they could'nt pass through and break through it next time. so when they break in the first time U GOTTA change things around a bit keep them guessing cause they do remember...... thats it!!!! i have two sticks of dynamite wired into my alarm by the gas tank. alarm goes off( KABOOM) if i can't have my car .....no one will lol

Very True, My Brothers Civic, Which Was One Of The Fastest Street Civics In The Country Got Stolen In Less Than 5 Mintues. So It Really Doesnt Matter What You Have, They Want It, They Have It.

So are you saying since your brother's car was so fast it should have been hard to steal?
