Default a/d/s

Is it still the same now that DEI owns them? Have they changed for better or worse?

I have not seen a new product line from them since Directed bought ADST. I would suggest waiting to see how things are post CES.

a/d/s/ was having money problems before the acquisition (shown by thier inability to handle warranty issues in a timely manner). I would think that Directed bringing some cash into the situation would allow a/d/s/ to handle things better now.

I will say that thier equipment is TOP notch. I installed the following in my brother's 330Ci:

one set of 346is comps
one set of 336im co-ax
one P650
one 312RS.2 sub
one PQ40.2

I would also say that their amplifiers are very under rated. The only reason there are two amps in that system is because my brother wanted rear speakers. One of their Power Plate amps can easily run an entire setup, and you don't have to run their subs at RMS to get a lot of sound out of them.

So I would say that their product will continue to stay at the same level (everyone is still on the East Coast at the same address/phone, but now their email addresses end in @directed.com now. I would say that they have improved in the sense that they can offer better customer service.

Hope that helps.

So I guess my real question is, is a/d/s worth the money?

Depends on what you are paying for it...at internet prices...yes. It's expensive gear without a doubt, but at the same time when you see and feel it, you can tell that it has excellent build quality.

I really like a/d/s/ for some things, but in some respects I HATE THEM....ifyou like how it sounds, and it fits your budget, go for it.

YES! a/d/s is some of the best equipment I have listened too. Its very natural sounding, (not super bright like MB Quart or Boston). In my opinion at least. I think I will be putting them in my car
