Custom RCA Cables?

I'm no professional, but I think you would use RCA connectors???
Just buy good cables... It's going to be cheaper and sound better; unless you have the proper equipment to properly terminate the cables.

Although it is possible to "make" a RCA cable with nothing more then a soldering gun and a set of side cutters, [there are even some "solder-less" RCA terminals out there, not recommended] to do them properly you really need
1- A solder pot... http://www.action-electronics....Plato
2- A proper "stripping tool" something like this... http://www.partsexpress.com/pe...2-688
3- A soldering station, [or pencil]... http://www.radioshack.com/prod...earch
4- A terminal and wire holder of some kind.

I'd disagree with you guys - you can make your own RCA's at a FRACTION of the cost if you have patience and soldering skills.
Take a look at canare star quad mic cables for a great, low cost cable for your rcas. Mix it with any of your favorite solder rca connectors and you are good to go.
Takes a lot of time to build, but you can tailor them to match your install and cut them to custom lengths.
Far and away cheaper then what is available commercially at this level of quality.

fair enough, I read your post too quickly - unless you can solder - mid-fi commercially available cable should be fine...

I would have to agree you dont need any special tools. A soldering iron and some wire strippers/ cutters is all you need.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to solder some wire. You might want to practice on junk wire first. Only use rosin core flux and use at least 99% alcohol to clean the flux. The cheap crap they sell at the local drug store is 70% and will not do anything.
