custom integra rear trunk deck lid sub box helllp
so i got this idea .. please bear with me and read my whole post because i dont have pics to explain better.
im thinking of building a sub box behind the stock rear decklid on my teg. the reason why is so i dont need to have a sub in the trunk getting all muflled by the time it reaches the pass comp. i would put two 10" subs on the deck lid, build a box behind it and support it on the rear floor..
im looking for SUPER CLEAN sound, VERY fast reaction from the subs (think drum and bass/ harcore techno) 1000+ watts
please help out with comments and ideas, or if im even on the right track. thanks

Not needed, plus the looks if not done right. The sound will not be muddy or distorted if you do a enclosure in the trunk.
and yea it will be hard to make it look ok but i think i have a good idea.. maybe
why not just get some subs that run well in an IB enclosure or "free-air." i work with a guy who has an Arc 8" mounted in the stock location of his TL and it sounds amazing. then again...it's setup more for SQ and not techno.
i have never heard a system i liked with the sub in the back.. it always rattles the **** outa everything and never sounds clean to me. just using common sense here but im pretty sure sound waves get distorted when they have to go thru a foam seat/plastic trim...

- The wave does not "get distorted" by the plastic /foam trim.
- bass (low notes) are omni directional.
- low octaves are also in road, tire, exhaust noise.
- cars have thin metal surfaces that are prone to vibration or "excitable" by sounds in thier resonant frequency
- the lower the note...the longer the soundwave.
A proper designed subwoofer system would work great in your trunk and sound phenomenal.

The problem is that the deck plate of the tl is solid and it easier to seal the front waves from the trunk. On the teg. The plate is flimsey and not as solid and sealed as the tl. To much work to do vs doing a regular inclosure that will gain more for cheap. Also sub noice will be more noticable with the free air.
