crisp, clear base that bumps!!!
Well I set aside roughly $1k for the whole setup including sub/box/all interior speakers, electrical upgrades, and installation. I already have a nice bridgeable amp and a Alpine CDA-98** (can't remember which model lol). Was thinking of powering the speakers with the deck, but heard it kills the life of it, so probably will grab another amp too.
I want a kick-*** system that is gonna sound great for years to come. I want to do it once and do it right. Thanks for the help!

I can definitely increase my budget a little bit. A thousand is just a ballpark figure. This is the model page for my amp, except it's a 1200 watt max, not 800.

The HU is brand new in box, so I'm planning on using it. What do you think about the amp?

It's neither
here's the specs
250 Watts x 1, at 4 ohms <= 1% THD+N
360 Watts x 1, at 2 ohms
360w is cool for a sub but you will want more in a matter of months
Happened to me..went from a 500w sub stage to a 1000w sub stage, now im at 4k lol.

For speakers, it's gonna depend on your hu.
If you can find a great installer and get the add on processor, you can go with some raw drivers instead of conventional car audio speakers

This is the new deck that was given to me (brand new in box):

Thanks again!
Sweet. I'm going out this afternoon to pick up a sub. I'm gonna go with a 12" DC lvl3 (seems like owners of this one are really satisfied). I found a couple of local dealers that had some in stock and I'm gonna go get some price quotes for installation. I might check out some amps too. It's kind of a slow process because I'm piecing everything together after careful research lol. I want nothing but quality parts.
So have you owned a DC Lvl3 yourself?

I never owned it but i've installed it in about 10 setups and the customers loved them
They're the best sounding sub in the dc line and for the price, they're hard to beat.
make sure to get the dual 4 ohm version.
As far as amps go, you can go mb quart dsc for your front stage and sundown for the sub.

The sundown amps seem really pricey. Is there a particular model you'd suggest? I don't know much about MB Quart but I'll look into what they have also.
What area do you live in?

Cool
I was thinking this for your front stage

amped on a mb quart dsc 4125(somewhat hard to find since they're cheap and do 125 x 4)

Yeah that amp looks hard to find after some quick online searching, but i'll keep looking. How many of the door speakers/tweeter would you think I should order? I wanna get them ordered today so i can receive them asap :]
Never heard of Dayton, assuming they're pretty good though. Thanks.

Google maps says 2 hours and 51 minutes. 166 miles
Alright, so I ordered 2 of each. I'm pretty excited about getting my system hooked up

There's also the crescendo 1000c4. This amp has pretty much swapped places with the MB Quart DSC4125 as far as overall value.

If only you were here a year ago
I was able to ****** the dsc 4125's for 90 shipped on caraudiodeals.com. Ended up picking up 35 of them for $6750(owner of car audio deals gave them to me for 75 shipped as a discount) All the customers loved them since big power 4 channel amps are usually expensive.

Jeez I wish I was on here a year ago too. I actually started on my car audio roughly a year ago, but money troubles kept me from continuing until now. I'll keep lookin for a dsc 4125 and keep the crescendo as a plan B. It's coming together nicely now though. can't wait
I wanted to do a sealed box... and nothing too huge. I want a little space in the hatch for cargo.
I'll definitely need sound deadening... i've got almost none lol.

As you can see, you only need 1.75 cubes before port for the sub
So the box will be around 1.90-2 cubic feet which is pretty small and you should still have tons of space left.
