Connecting amp wire to battery problem..

Default Connecting amp wire to battery problem..

when I connect my amp wire to my battery the interior lights flicker a lil and when i try to start the car.. it's as if the ecu turns everything off.. car totally dies until i disconnect the battery and reconnect... any ideas guys??? been without bass for a while now..just been riding around with the fuse pulled..

perhaps you have a short. with the wire disconnected from the batt, get a multi meter set it on the setting where it beeps when shorted. connect one side to a ground and the other side to the power wire. does it beep?

If there's a short . .fuse would pop before anything could happen.

If there's a short . .fuse would pop before anything could happen.</TD></TR></TABLE> Unless it's a minor short, or there is no fuse also I would think it has something to do with the amp power wire or amp, if the problem is there when the power wire is hooked up to the batt. but not if it's not I would disconnect the power wire at the amp, [and tape off] then hook up the power wire and see if the problem is there, if not, the problem is in the amp, if it's still there then there is somekind of short on the power wire, maybe pinched behind the ECU, and shorting out to it 94

thank you for the responses.. i don't have a multimeter i really wish i had one but I will try that with my amp.. one guy said the amp may of died so it could very well be the amp..

welp problem solved.. my dumbass wired the remote wire into the wrong wire.. killed my amp but i had another amp as backup.. however problem solved.. occult who was banned a while back gave me the answer..
