Ive had my compustar alarm for almost a year now. It wont communicate with the brain anymore. Ive tried the whole key cycle and put the battery in and it just searches for a signal and then beeps a few times and shuts off. Before it was doing this the range sucked...Id have to be like 20 feet from the car to disarm it. The people who put it in are out of business so I dont have anyone to get a new remote or any type of technical support. Ive tried calling cumpustar and they dont get back to me and any close local shops dont help because it would be a warranty type thing and no profit so yet. Someone help me, I need my remote start for the colorado weekend
Find another Compustar dealer... http://www.compustar.com/dealer_locator.htm
What is the model number of the unit?
Was range always a problem or did it just get worse until it would not work at all?
Have you replaced the batt.?

Ok well that page has 4 dealers now and none are even close to being local. I understand how to change the remote out but I was thinking that if it was warranty that the dealer may need to do it. Its a 2wSSr or whatever...the problem got progressively worse...sometimes id have to just pop the battery out and back in to unlock the doors, then distance got worse and then it just took a poop. Battery in remote is new of course
Probably a cold solder connection in the remote, Compustar will replace the remote under warranty, you will have to send it in to Compustar with proof of purchase from an authorized dealer, if you are not close to a dealer.
I am surprised you have not been able to talk to tech support, I have no problem getting in touch with them, I find it easier to use the consumer tech support then the authorized dealer tech support.
