(found this article online somewhere)
This is what I would do to retain ALL the security features of the system and on top of it this will give you all the bells and whistles you want + more........
Go buy a Compustar 2W8000FM-AS or 2W900FM-AS and a universal bypass module ( TBKIII or TBKIV ). Here's how it works, the Compustar system has a feature on there that will auto lock and unlock + arm & disarm the alarm system within 50 feet of the vehicle. THis feature can be turned on or off with the press of the button. Great feature and the remote control is also a two way communication device taht lets you know if the car is being tampered with or not through audible beeps, vibration & also visual Indiglo backlighting.
Now, the TBKIII/TBKIV is a universal module that induces the signal of the chip in the head of the key to allow the starting of the vehicle without having a key in the ignition. You can install this so that it will work with the remote start feature of the Compustar & also have it so that it will work with a push button starter system.
The idea is not new, but takes some knowledge of how the ignition system works. This way of doing what you want retains all security aspects of the OEM system and also leaves the anti-theft system of the Lexus intact. Also, this route gives you remote start feature that you would not have in the first place, a security ststem that can integrate with the OEM system & also gives you 2 way comminucation between you and the vehicle up to 5000 feet away. Everyone wins !
