Default compustar alarm questions - esp handcommand

found a retailer near me but i want to know what is expected from a professional install for the COMPUSTAR 2WSS-AS. for ex. how long it should take, what specifically they should be doing (hiding wires, the brain, camoflage the wires, taking the dash / and other stuff out) how much approximately it should cost.

i would like to know what optional stuff i should add and how much it should be.

pretty much a list of questions to ask the alarm installer.

1) Brain not up under the driver's side dash (anywhere else hidden is fine.)
2) Siren inaccessible from top of engine
3) Blend wiring to match factory look (nothing should stand out.)
4) Add a battery backup and use the hood pin switch supplied in the alarm.
5) Doors/hood/trunk should trigger the alarm.
6) Add a glass break sensor if you're paranoid (don't get a proximity sensor.)

Optional stuff I would add is trunk release and window rolldown if you want (that's big bucks though.) Cost if installed well should be around $600 (not including windows) and take 4-8 hours depending on the skill level of the installer.

his list sounds fine, The retards who installed my Compustar took 6 maybe 7 hours but they did install the window up/dw thing with remote starter, they did a very bad job. I had to redo most of the wiring cause it stood uot like a sore thumb and the lights kept cutting out.

I would ask the installer to see other cars with the same alarm installed before they start work on your car.

good luck.

i wanted to know how much you guys are getting quoted for on compustar prices.......
the reason i ask is because I was quoted for my Integra (with no power locks) $850 to uninstall my clifford and install the top of the line compustar, yet Car Audio mag says that the system should go for $700 installed.

if you want a compustar alarm at cost goto ebay. only retailers and compustar dealers sell them, and most would like them installed or with a high markup.

its about ~700 installed for the top of the line compustar. the shop i am talking to is in glendale, they are apparently a certified dealer of compustar products. if ya for sure going to get it, mebe we can go down there together and get a discount or something.
