i know that you program it by flipping the key back and forth from the acc to the ign on but i cant seem to get it programmed. im thinking that it could that they ordered me the wrong remote but thats only thing i think it coul be
my origional remote looked like this

Are you getting the system into "Remote-Pager Learn Routine", do the park lights flash 1 time after cycling the ign. switch 5 times, [leaving it on the 5th time]?
Cycling the ign. too fast or too slow will prevent you from getting into learn routine.

yes and after it blinks the frist set of times i bush the 1 on the remote but then nothing happens... maybe there are to many remotes already programmed to it. i bought it with that alarm so i dont know
Every time you go into remote programing mode it erases all remotes programed into the alarm, if you are getting into remote program mode, [sounds like you are] and the remote does not program, you have a problem with the remote, you did check the batt. in the remote, right? Remove batt. reinstall it and the remote will go through an "initializing" stage, light up make noise and so on, if that works, but will not program, take the remote back were you got it, it's defective.
