It will work just fine thats the size battery I replaced mine with. I would recommend everyone that buys the 520t to swap it out for a battery like that.
You have no worries. The charging circuit in that device is just a bunch of 1A diodes. It will work with that battery just fine.

I have a compustar 2w900fm
I had it wired up according to the dei diagram
after about 6 or so months my alarm just stopped working so I took a look & noticed the 520t module melted
How did you have the 520T connected to the remote start, and what remote start do you have?
The 520T was designed to power an alarm system, not a remote start system.

You have a 2W900FM-AS, [alarm/remote start combo unit] and you connected the output from the 520T to one or both of the Compustars power leads, CN1/1 and CN1/3... http://www.staub.ca/tech/Manua...l.pdf ???
